Are you a guest, or have you attended the St Jude Retreats in the last 20 years?

We have created this site to allow past guests of the St. Jude Retreats to post comments, express their experiences, tell their stories, discuss their accomplishments, and ultimately to let others seeking help for drug and/or alcohol know a little more about what to expect when they attend the St. Jude Program at any one of the three St. Jude Retreats…

Before you came to the St. Jude Retreat, did you want the following information? How are my classes going to be structured? What is the quality of the food there? Will there be down time? What are the activities? Are the staff credentialed and are they nice? etc…

Again, this site is dedicated to posting reviews of the St. Jude Retreats, let others know what to expect, whether it be positive or negative. Your comments will help someone make an informed decision.

I lived my life “one day at a time” for more than 5 years and I knew I was missing something. Most of my lifelong friends that I had left behind were married, starting families and their careers had taken off. And here I was stuck; too afraid to think beyond tomorrow; relying on therapists and meds to get me through. I stumbled onto the St. Jude Retreat House website and it said everything I had been thinking for five long years. I was nervous making the call because I was sober, but my life was awful. The woman that answered the phone made me feel comfortable and seemed to understand where I was in my life and why I wasn’t happy. I was concerned about leaving my home and job for six weeks and about taking out a loan to pay for the program, but it was by far the best investment I have ever made. While most other guests at St. Jude’s were looking to overcome their alcohol and drug problems I was looking to overcome my perpetual recovery problem and I did. The St. Jude Program gave me the confidence to reconnect with my old friends, this time as an adult, jump start my career and finally begin to live again. Believe me, there’s much more to life than just staying sober, one day at a time.
